Mark Sanders

Mark Sanders transitioned to private industry in August 2017 after 35 years of Federal Service with the Department of Defense and Intelligence Community at the Senior Executive Service level. Currently, he is Group Vice President of the National Security Group at Zenetex. In this role he is responsible for leadership and the strategic direction of the Intelligence Operations Group, the Special Program Security Operations Group, and the Engineering/Test & Evaluation Group. From August 2017-August 2018, he was Senior Director of Business Development for Intelligence Programs at Zenetex.

During his Federal service Mark was an All-Source Analyst with the Defense Intelligence Agency and was a Senior Advisor to the Air Force Chief of Staff for Intelligence. His last assignment was as the Senior Executive Service-level Director of Foreign Materiel Program serving the Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence. In this role, he developed and implemented policy, oversight, guidance, strategic planning and budget direction for this scientific and technical intelligence program. During his tenure, he secured an additional $400M in supplemental congressional funds. In his various Intelligence Community roles he had extensive interaction with congressional oversight and appropriations committees, as well as with multiple Department of Defense component organizations, Department of State, Central Intelligence Agency, and senior foreign military liaison, intelligence, and diplomatic staff. In several instances he guided technical collection and HUMINT-affiliated programs. Mark is the recipient of Secretary of Defense Medal for Meritorious Civilian Service.
