Aircraft Sheet Metal Mechanic

ZENETEX specializes in management and technology support services for a variety of federal agencies and commercial organizations. We have opportunities for experienced Sheet Metal Mechanics, at I-level or higher task level complexity to support our Whidbey Island, WA FRCNW contract. By utilizing state-of-the-art management systems, the FRC program provides world-class support to Navy and Marine Corps tactical, logistical and rotary wing aircraft and their components.


Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work independently interpreting blueprints and engineering specifications to facilitate aircraft service change installations
  • Work independently fabricating metal repair and modifies aircraft sheet metal and composite structure and various aircraft component parts
  • Conduct personal inspections to ensure the work meets quality industry standards


Physical Effort: Work requires standing, stooping, bending, and reaching. Frequent handling, lifting, and carrying objects that weigh 40-50 lbs


Working Conditions: Work is performed in closed-in areas that are usually noisy and dirty, and where there is a constant danger to the skin and eyes from flying metal chips and abrasive particles; skin irritation from contact with coolants, lubricants, and abrasive compounds; danger to fingers, hands, and other parts of the body from cutting tools, grinding wheels, rotating pieces, and moving parts of machines

Education and Experience Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Qualified candidates will have the ability to utilize complex shop mathematics to figure irregular curves, angles, and pitch; experience with pattern and template making; and be skilled with the use of a variety of complex measuring instruments.
  • Previous aircraft sheet metal experience
  • F-18 aircraft sheet metal repair is preferred
